This view, from Interstate 80 looking north, shows the Jim Bridger Power Plant at the extreme left. The valley is in the Lewis Shale of Cretaceous age. The rocks in the cliffs are beach deposits with the coal-forming layers on top. The Jim Bridger Coal Mine is northeast of the power plant, in these rocks.
